A Novel Welcome

"Chapter One."

The cursor blinks. Silently. Mockingly. Accusingly. Somehow in the all-too-brief hours between getting the rest of the family out the door and hearing them all tramp in again searching for food, I must hash out another 2,000 words. Not likely. My mind's gone blank and I'm out of coffee. Also, the dog is barking. Lord, save the mail lady.

I think that's lunch.
